Thank God we don't have carnaval here in Rebel County!

A guide to Irish driving

1. Under no circumstance should you maintain a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, because somebody else will fill in the space, putting you in an even more dangerous situation.

2. Never pass on the right when you can pass on the left. It's a good way to prepare other drivers entering the motorway.

3. Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as a suggestion and are not enforceable in Ireland during rush hour.

4. Learn to swerve abruptly without signalling. Ireland is the home of high-speed slalom driving thanks to the Department of Public Works, which puts potholes in key locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them alert!

5. It is tradition in Ireland to honk your horn at cars in front of you that do not move three milliseconds after the light turns green.

6. To avoid injury in the event of a collision or rollover, it is important to exit your vehicle through the windscreen right away. Wearing your seat belt will only impede your hi-velocity escape from danger.

7. WARNING! Never come to a complete stop at a stop sign. No one expects it and it will result in you being rear-ended.

Back into the gym

It just had to be done - I signed up again for the gym but changed for old, overpriced and dusty Metropole to the new, overpriced and clean Rochestown Park. It's been fantastic being back in the gym again.

30 mins stepper, 496cals
25 mins bike, 220 cals.
total 716 cals.

That will do.

Back again tonight.

An historic day!

And that was the first time the English were welcome since their last visit back in 1920.

A long long time ago

On such a historic day that rugby was played on the holy grounds of Croke Park, it's about time to revive this blog and get this moving again.

It's been a wet and windy weekend, but it's been a good one! There were a few jars in the local in Kilmackillogue and a nice surprise while opening up the P21 statements from the Revenue, so yeah, can't complain.

To be posted during the week: pics from the skiing holiday!

Be good!
