Funderland is back in town!

Sometimes it's just great to feel like a kid and act like one!

Funderland is back in town, so yeah, it's opening night tonight, so expect us queuing at the gates long before opening time!

While it's quiet at the office you'll keep enough energy for later on in the gym:

Taking a break tonight - team night out, Indian restaurant and pints - ah well.

Mortgage relief

Well, I already thought it was never added, but as ye only get 1 statement a year, I finally got the answer I was looking for. The Revenue Commissioners never added mortgage relief to our tax credits.

Better get this organised and see how much I'm gonna get back from them.

"Belastingdienst, leuker kunnen we niet maken, wel makkelijker" - The Revenue here is about the same!

It's been one of those days

Sometimes you just have one of those days where everything seems to go wrong. Well, nobody got hurt, it was just a shite day - thank God I could blow off some steam afterwards at the R'town Park.

Stepper 30 mins 525 cals
Bike 25 mins 205 cals

Back again tonight - so far it's been a much, much better day :-)

June 1988 - March 21st 2007

It's mad enough like to write an obituary for a cat, but Kinkel has been with the family for nearly 19 years - so yeah, he deserves his space in the history books. You've been a great cat, R.I.P.

Just a quick update

Well,

It's been two weeks of travelling back and forth to Holland and it's been great fun!

First of all there was the reunion of my secondary school and a visit to my brother's place up north. Then last Thursday one of my friends from college got married so I flew over again for that.

The following day I had my first practice session on the driving range at Bilthoven's Duinse Bosch golf course. I had never played a single round of golf (no, crazy golf doesn't count), so it was great to finally play! Thanks again Iris!

A few nights more in the local pub in Bussum with some of the gang (thanks again for coming guys) and a bit of a hangover before I took the flight back home yesterday morning.

I've been able to stock up on the good old drop, Babi Pangang, stroowafels and rookworst, all typical Dutch foods without being stopped at customs for smuggling too much food - all good!

Back again in July!

New strategy

As I felt too wrecked to do anything on Tuesday nite, I changed the strategy; go nuts on the stepper and use the bike for a leisurely cycle.

Stepper 30 mins: 585 cals
Bike 20 mins: 165 cals

And oh yeah, the Irish are the biggest binge drinkers in the world!

A new week, new stats

Stepper 30 mins: 564 cals
Bike 30 mins: 310 cals

Note sure whether I'll show up tonight - might postpone it 'till tomorrow and shop for a new suit tonight. Thank God you can shop here until midnight !

Bunratty Medieval Banquet

Last Saturday we went out to Bunratty Castle for its medieval banquet. It's a pretty touristy thing to do but it was actually good craic! The wine was fairly shocking but hey as it was part of the deal we drank it like we were all still students! With much thanks to Nelius for being our designated driver because we met our friends of An Garda Siochana for a breathalizer checkpoint in the middle of the night. I'll be the driver next time!

A long way to Mayo

Well, it wasn't actually when we were driving up. It should have taken us 3 hours according to total unrealistic AA Roadwatch, but with 3hrs 45 it was actually good going!

We had a lovely time and it was great to catch up with some good friends. I'll post some photos of the sunset over Croagh Patrick during the week. It was freezing cold, but still it was good to stand outside and stare at the lunar eclipse for a while.
