Rain, rain, rain!

Will this rain ever stop! The river Lee is nearly bursting its banks and I'm not in the mood to get stuck on the north side after work tonight!

Bellview Airlines

I found the ticket I used on my daytrip to Abuja.

Unfortunately Bellview does not have a very good reputation.

Next time I'll use Virgin Nigeria

I need to blog more!

I know, I know, I need to blog more!

Well, since last Wednesday I have spend some time in native The Netherlands and basically played catch-up with the family, friends and old-colleagues!

I had a great time, didn't sleep too much and stumbled into the aircraft going home and slept the whole flight back.

Nothing exciting this week anyway; it's back to basics, back to work, study and looking at the property market.

I can't make a decision - car and travelling vs a new house - what's the best choice?

St. Patricks' Weekend!

Even though I was fairly jetlagged due to an overnight flight back to Heathrow, a 5-hour stopover and an hour's delay, I still had a good enough St. Patrick's Day. My friend Rutger came over from The Netherlands and we had a brilliant time! Nothing too special, just headed to Charles' Fort in Kinsale, had a bite to eat at Eco's in Douglas and a few bevvies in the Sibin in Lauragh.

Images of Lagos

In Lagos, all foreigners are driven from one location to the next; whatever happens, you do not leave the car; hence, I did not have any real opportunity to take some photos while out in Nigeria.

The photos below were shot through the blackened car windows; it may give you some idea of what the place is like;

Property Prices!

The property market has gone crazy! I noticed an advertisment for a 2-bed apartment similar to our one put up for sale for a whopping EUR 260,000! This is nuts! This may mean that the new development may totally be out of reach, ie. well into the 330-360,000 EUR... that ain't worth it!

Then we might as well take the cash in a few years and make a run for it!

Greetings from Lagos

3 glasses of red wine knocked me out for 2.5 hours, so I slept half of the flight coming here! Excellent job BA! We've got a 7AM Bellview flight to Abuja and a 6PM return flight back to Lagos tomorrow and then it's just a few hours on Wednesday at the office and the hotel pool before flying overnight Wednesday on BA flight 74.

By the way, it's hot here... 30 degrees!

Name and shame campaign

I remember this situation happening in Holland last year; a campaign whereby retailers are displaying photographs of potential shoplifters; It seems to have started here in Cork now as well...

Legal - don't think so.

Effective - maybe.

It's a good day!

It is a very good day!

It is Friday!

I had the best sleep last night that I've had in weeks!

and.....

we found out that Legal Eagle passed her Moot Court exam, so yeah, it's a good day alright!

I'll do a big, big post about the wedding of the year later this week, but yesterday was the fifth anniversary of my departure to Ireland. I can't believe it's already five years ago since I packed my bags and left my native soil! Doesn't time fly, eh?

Snow everywhere - except in Cork!

Well, at least it's nice and sunny! We're off to Lauragh tonight already as we're attending our friends' wedding on Friday in Killarney. It's going to be a freezing cold , but highly enjoyable day! Looking forward to it!
