Minus 12 in Moscow!

Only arrived here late afternoon and went straight to the hotel; Haven't seen anything yet, hopefully have a bit of time tomorrow to see the Red Square and the Kremlin.

It's cold though, I can tell ye that!

Got my Russian Visa!

Today I received my Russian Visa, so all is now organised from my trip to Moscow next week.

As I cannot knit, I better go shopping this weekend and get myself a nice woolen hat as it's still freezing cold out there!

Need new music!

Even though I've got 20GB on my iAudio, I'm getting bored of the music; I need some new stuff!! This 2-hour cycling a day makes me go through all the tunes fast!

Flu !

And yeah, what is the story with this flu that's going around? Half the office is bloody sick at home! Feeling fine here I must say... didn't get enough sleep last night as I was watching 'The Return Of The King' on Sky Movies, but era, the cycling this morning woke me up (and possible got rid of any viruses in my system as well).

Online checkin for Ryanair flights!!

This is fecking brilliant! Online checking on Ryanair flights!

That means connections via Dublin or Stansted are now much easier as you don't have to queue for check-in anymore; Just arrive and walk straight to the next gate!

Nice one!

This is amazing! Today I received a Christmas card from my former colleagues;

Posted in Amsterdam: January 3rd 2006

Arrived in Ireland; January 24th 2006

That is some efficient service! *sigh*

So if you want to send me a birthday card, you better send it now if you want to be sure that it arrives on time!

Flight confirmation - Amsterdam

I could not resist.

14 EUR each way, excluding taxes and charges. All together still a hundred quid, but I'm looking forward to it.

Friday March 10th, arrival 19.55 hours.
Monday March 13th, departure 20.40 hours.

Firey Red Skies!

When I left the office last Friday evening I was amazed of the firey red skies above me. I was just a few minutes too late to capture the real glow, but the pictures below still give the right impression.

And the weekend in Lauragh was very, very quiet... January detox month! The walk around Ardgroom Lake was nice though!

Back in business

Finally, my bicycle is back in business! As the chain had snapped just before the Christmas holidays, I could only bring it for repairs last week. Thank God it's fixed again and I have my freedom back!

Nothing planned for tonight; better sort out the admin and the ironing... how exciting!

Anyway, this morning's sunrise over Little Island was quite peaceful

Another week gone

So, that's another week gone... at least it's good to see that every morning it's getting that little bit brighter! Give it another month and we'll be able to have daylight again when going to work... Show me Spring, I've had enough of these grey and dull Winter months!

Nothing too crazy planned for this weekend, tearing down the Christmas tree will be the highlight I'd say...

Enjoy the weekend!

Traffic jams in Cork!

I've seen some crazy traffic around the Kinsale Road Roundabout, or the Rochestown Road, but the traffic build-up this morning on the approach to the Dunkettle Roundabout was nuts! Normally it's backed up from just before the Jack Lynch tunnel, but today it stretched from as far as the Little Island junction!

Legal Eagle at the piano

This was the Saturday that both of us wished for; nice, quiet, no pressure... We couldn't be bothered going to the An Sibin bar last night, so we just went to bed early... Well, I did..... Legal Eagle has been at the piano and it's great to hear her play again!

After helping Mike cutting some trees around the farm, we watched Wargames. Remember that one? Hacking into the Pentagon's super computers to launch the nuclear missles. We picked up the tape at a local bazaar... 1 EUR... can't go wrong with that. And, it is actually a good enough movie alright.

Anyway, nothing much happening, drinking plenty of tea, Deadlydee is at the piano; Mary Black, Roxette, Eric Clapton, Evanescene.

Beautiful!

Happy New Year!

As it's already the fifth day in the New Year, it's about time that I start updating this blog again! During a well-deserved break we were fairly busy alright; We climbed Knockatee mountain in Lauragh on Christmas Day, while walking home Kilmackillogue on St. Stephen's Day. The light was good. The light was very good, so yeah, I'll be sending these photos in to RTE's Weatherphoto competition again.

Afterwards we flew to Holland to spend some time with my family and friends; As it had just been snowing over there, we had to behave like kiddies!

But there were also some scenic sights

And yeah, we had to mark our territory

And after a long night of partying in the Paradiso night club, we felt like this:
